Repairing Hail Damage to Your Roofing System
Hailstorms are loud and dangerous. Sudden, violent hailstorms cause millions of dollars in property damage when they strike. And which part of your home usually takes the brunt of the attack? The roof.
When a hailstorm hits, be sure to call on Gotcha Covered Contracting to conduct a thorough inspection of your roofing system.
Unless your roof is professionally examined, you may miss hidden damage that could lead to more expensive repairs in the future.
Here’s how…
Sometimes the damage caused by hail is very obvious. Shingles are cracked or torn off, holes are punched in the roof deck, gutters sag and pull away from the roof’s edge, chimneys and vents are knocked askew and metal panels are dented. These are clear signs that you’ll need to call on a roofing company to make repairs.
But in many, many instances the damage caused by hail is not visible, yet it can be just as dangerous. A hailstone as small as 1/4” can actually cause a “bruise” on the underlayment beneath the layer of shingles or tile on your home’s roof. This bruising can weaken the underlayment, causing cracks that spread and eventually open up to allow water to penetrate the layer and enter your home.
The roof repair experts at GCC are specially trained to identify and assess these “hidden” damages caused by hail. We can evaluate the extent of the damage and make repairs to the underlayment that will prevent the penetration of the protective layer and restore its integrity.
Don’t take chances with your roof. Call on Gotcha Covered Contracting, the leader among home roofing contractors, for an expert inspection and repair following significant hailstorms.
